Soul in the City: Bemerton – Pictures!

Soul in the City: Bemerton

What a great few days it was on the Bemerton Estate, putting the church at the heart of our community and showing God’s love to the people there. We had a number of projects going on over the three days – e.g. helping clear communal areas, making a children’s play area usable again, helping people with their gardening and decorating and putting some window boxes up around the place. We also had football with some of the guys on the sports pitch and a great big purple youth bus join us each day. Finally, on the Saturday we had a big Family Fun day in Bingfield Park. Great work all round and here’s a few pictures about what we got up to.

Soul in the City: Bemerton was a joint venture with kxc, Kings Cross Baptist Church and our parish. Fantastic to work with other Christians in our area for the long weekend.

And we started each day with praise and worship, to give the day to God.

One of the biggest projects was working on the outdoor play area at Light Project International.
We sanded…

Gardened and painted…

And at the end I’m sure you’ll agree it was all worthwhile.

Other projects included clearing up waste from around the Bemerton. You see that huge, heavy concrete block at the bottom left? We shifted that. Oh yes.

Standing proudly in front of a very full skip.

And each day the big, purple XLP Youth bus joined us at Bingfield Park. The Youth work was headed up by Rach Anderson.

The All Saints team ran the BBQ

And there were all sorts of stalls, including the fascinator workshop.
