Soul in the City: Bemerton
(Thursday 2nd – Saturday 4th June)
Soul in the City is three afternoons of free community events on and around Bingfield Park. Organised by local churches and in partnership with London City Mission, there will be activities and entertainment together with some practical projects to freshen up a couple of areas around the estate for the summer through a spot of gardening and clearing. Why not come and join in?
The event will culminate in a fun day on Saturday including a free BBQ and cafe, live music, face painting and ‘fascinator’ making, and much more besides! There will be a football on the multi-use pitch within Bingfield Park, including a 2 on 2 “Panna Cage” to show off your tricks on Friday and a mini tournament on Saturday (Age groups 8-11, 12-15 and 16+). Each afternoon there will also be a visit from the XLP Youth bus, with its music, gaming and chillout areas. This will be parked on Rufford Street, next to Bingfield Park from 1pm-2.30pm.
The event is part of a wider initiative organised by churches across Islington at the invitation of the Leader of the Council, Catherine West, who states, “The success of Soul in the City shows just what can be achieved when communities act together. It’s a wonderful occasion and I’m delighted that it’s back for another year with an exciting week of activities…..It’s all about improving the lives of young people in the borough and making Islington a better place – something I fully support”
Events will run from 11.30-5.00 each day and you can just turn up and join in. To see the poster for the event please click on the poster thumbnail below.

Pray and you can move mountains. I will say this should draw large crowds. It will let people see that all the neighbours can work together for the good of The Lord.
