This remarkable photograph is of the war memorial in Thornhill Gardens (here) taken on Remembrance Day in 1929.
It is always fascinating to learn more about the history of the parish, and this image belongs to Anthony Baxter, who’s grandfather is to the lower right of the cross holding the Colours. The poignant aspect of this picture is that Anthony’s Grandfather, who was a veteran of WW1 passed away two weeks after this picture was taken.
