Starchasers is back on Sunday 8th May. We’ll be meeting at the usual time (10.45am – 12.15pm) and at the usual place (St. Andrew’s School).

This term we’ll be looking at the Bible. What’s in the Bible? What’s it about? What’s the big story in the Bible? And how can we read and understand it for ourselves?

The dates for Starchasers this term are:

May – 8th & 29th
June – 12th & 26th
July – 10th
July 17th – Starchasers service @ St. Andrew’s Church

At the end of term we’ll have our  Parish wide Starchasers service at St. Andrew’s Church. All children & families from Starchasers and all three churches are welcome to join us for this celebration Sunday.

THE GAP will be back on Monday 9th May with a party to welcome the Year 6s

THE GAP is a club to support those who are either side of the gap between primary and secondary school. It meets every other Monday at St. Andrew’s Church and it’s for anyone aged 11 to 14 years old.

This term we’ll be looking at Jesus. We’ll be looking at who He is, why He came to Earth and why He died. There will also be the opportunity to ask questions about the Christian faith.

THE GAP is meeting weekly on Mondays:

Pancake Party 2011:
Tuesday 8th March 4:30 – 7:30pm @ All Saints Church

The Pancake Party is the biggest family event of the year in the Parish and local families and children are invited to come join us. Throughout the party we’ll have different activities for primary school aged kids, a play area for under 5s and a cafe area for those just wanting a nice sit down and a chat. Oh and of course lots of pancakes to eat.

Throughout the evening we’ll have three different kids activities at three different times:

• 4.30pm Action stations featuring face painting, Wii and crafts.
• 5.30pm The team game challenge where teams battle it out across our challenges.
• 6.30pm And finally we ended with the ever popular bouncy castle.

Come join us for as little or as long as you want!

Bemerton Carols is an afternoon of Christmas fun and Carols that’s suitable for all ages. If you want to get into the Christmas spirit, sing a few carols and hear about the Christmas story then come along. We’ll have:

• Christmas Crafts for Kids
• Tea / Coffee / Hot Chocolate
• Mince Pies & Roast Chestnuts
• And of course, lots of Carols

The Carol Service is from 3.45-4.30pm but there will be crafts and activities happening before and after the service.

And it all takes places at the Paget Christian Centre (Randells Road near Bingfield Park).

The Superheroes party is a party organised by Starchasers on the 31st October each year and anyone who is aged 6 to 11 years old is invited to join us.

Come dressed as your favourite Superhero or as a person who is a hero of yours as there will be prizes for the best costumes. As well as the fancy dress parade we’ll also have Games, Team challenges, Superheroes feast, Kids talk and more.

The Superheroes party is at St. Andrew’s Church and runs from 4.30pm to 7.00pm.

This term we’ll be looking at Christmas. What did the Bible say about Jesus before He was born? What actually happened in the Christmas story? And what does that tells us about why Jesus came to Earth? It all starts with a welcome back party on October 18th.

Scorpion football will restart on Wednesday 22nd September.

Scorpion football is a fun, fast-paced version of the game that promotes teamwork and skill. Each match has just one goal deciding the winner and the team with the most points at the end of the session wins. Teams are assigned on the day so you can just turn up by yourself and play.

Scorpion football is open to 7-11 year olds and takes place at 4-5pm on Wednesdays during term time at St. Andrew’s school. The sessions are led by FA qualified coaches and all staff and volunteers are CRB certified.

This term we’re going to be looking at two great prophets of the Old Testament – Elijah & Elisha. When they lived it was a really difficult time to be a prophet of God. Ahab and his sons were ruling and Jezebel was queen and queen mother. And they were the worst rulers in Israel’s history as they turned people away from God, wanted people to worship the false-god Baal and were killing the prophets of God. For Elijah and Elisha it was a really difficult time to stand out for God.

But throughout this term we’ll see that God was still in control, He was the one true God. God was in control of the rain, death, nature and even kings and armies. Ultimately God would remove Ahab, Jezebel and their family from the throne and give it to someone else. Even when it seemed like God was far away He was still working, He was still in control.
